Good event and well hosted by Xav. It had no hint of credit crunch about it but having been invited to three black tie jobs in the past two weeks one wonders whether the high water mark has now been reached in this current cycle for awards dinners. Will there be anything much to celebrate for the foreseeable future? Looks like I’ll have to find some other way to eat and drink.

@Glynn, please keep the doom and gloom in north London! Awards are a format for publishers to make money. The world goes on regardless of markets, wars, A N Other… So, while there may be a slackening of black tie events temporarily, I am sure you will be able to eek the odd one out for some refreshment and nourishment!
